Contest “Fear of Columns”
Columns, The contest “Fear of Columns”, Barcelona Pavilion. There is recreation of the 8 columns and two rollers that preceded the Pavilion Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona.
The 2 of June of 1986, coinciding with the centenary of the birth of Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, was the reconstruction of the Pavilion that the architect had built for the international exhibition of 1929.
The Fudacin Mies van der Rohe intends to reach all those people who are curious about the landmark Pavilion on the occasion of the anniversary the history of the city, and recreation is promoted in the 8 columns and 2 rollers on a temporary basis.

The proposal was to create the 8 columns in reverse, i.e., suspended in the air, floating above a sheet of water which controls access to visitors and which distorts or focuses the vision of the Pavilion as the point in which the citizen is.

With the composition of the materials used in construction, establishing a system of lighting that changes color, so the perception changes constantly. Giving a new feeling to the Viewer, during any visit to the Pavilion.
